Nachi waterfall

Nachi waterfall

133m high, and the highest waterfall in Japan.

Nachi waterfall is Japan’s highest one, with an uninterrupted drop of 133m. This fall is not just a natural marvel, it is also worshipped as a Shinto deity. At the bottom of the fall lies the Hero shrine, builtin the honour of the waterfall. Not very far from here lies another much bigger temple, who became famous as one of Japan’s iconic views: the Kumano Nacho Taisha and its big red pagoda overlooking the Nachi waterfall in the distance. The whole area is gorgeous, a natural blessing really worth a hike.

You can enjoy a beautiful video of the Nachi Falls and of their surroundings on Tokyo Street View’s YouTube channel.
