Happo One ski resort
Happo One (to be pronounced o-ne and not 1) is one of these wonderful places, a huge ski resort in which the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics took place. The resort is big, has many trails, some of them still labeled as “Olympic trail”. This picture was taken on the Nakiyama area, with the olympic jump ramp sitting right behind this slope.
By car, Hakuba is easily accessible from Tokyo. The area has lots of big and free parking lots. It is really convenient. As you may deduce from the picture above, there is really a lot of snow here in winter… snow tires are mandatory.
