Hotel “La Neige”: retro vibes and tons of snow
Hakuba is one of the most famous destination for snow lovers in Japan. That’s where the Nagano Olympic Games were held in 1998, and snow here is really delightful. Of course, such a place boasts lots of hotels and accommodations. Traditional Japanese hotels and ryokans, western hotels, minpaku (Air B&B style)… and the Hotel La Neige. From here you are less than one kilometre away from Happo One ski resort, a huge facility with a lot of runs. One of the best in Japan.
What makes La Neige so unique is its atmosphere. This Tudor style mansion seems perfect for an Agatha Christie novel, inside as well as outside. Bedrooms are cosy and confortable, and the lobby and its fireplace have a deliciously retro look. As for the food, don’t expect the ordinary buffet style… meals are served by a waiter, and they are very good.
